Which processor to choose??

Hi,

In our application we need to capture voice data (100Hz-3.3khz) data from a single microphone (mono). Audio sample rate is 8kS/s

We need to compress this data using ACELP , CELP. Also there should be a feature for VAD(Voice activity detection).

Other interfaces we require are 2 I2C interface. Interface for external RAR for a minimum size of 256kByte. An SD card interface.

our system is a battery powered one .

Please suggest some processor (DSP/microcontroller) for this application.

If built in libraries are available for ACELP, CELP compression technique and for VAD then this will speed up our implementation.

Please help

    Hi, Rakesh,

    We have forums dedicated to various processors, those guys don't monitor the audio forum.

    I might start with something like: Davinci or Stellaris, but these may be serious overkill for your application. Something as simple as an MSP430 may do the trick for you.
