TAS5805MEVM: Connection to an oscilloscope instead of a speaker

Part Number: TAS5805MEVM

Dear,

I'm trying to compare the signal in with signal out from the TAS5805MEVM board in an oscilloscope.

I am using a standard lab PSU at 12 V, and an oscilloscope connected to the J1 out1 (through a pair of cables from the female connector J1 into a coaxial mono input).

I am using a windows 10 laptop with the evaluation board connected, PPC3 works fine, I can change some settings in the board and I can see a change in the oscilloscope when the board is in play or sleep mode.

I was hoping to see something obvious like I play from the windows media player some sound and to see this in the oscilloscope amplified.

But this is not what I get.

Could you please explain or provide some hints on what could be going on?

Kindest regards,

Beatrice

  • Hello Beatrice,

Can you provide a waveform capture of what you are seeing in the output? Additionally Could you configure both Device A and B on the EVM, it might be easier to observe output waveforms on device B since it has a LC filter instead of the ferrite on Device A.

    best regards,
    Luis
