Output power limitation.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA3123D2

Hello everyone!

I would like to know how can i control the output power of an amp. I had an idea that i could do that with voltage deviders but I'm not sure.I thought that by replacing one of the resistors with a potentiometer and then connetcing the center tap to the Vout. Could anyone tell me am I right? And if I am, than what is the input value for maximum power output for TPA3123D2 amp. Also, how can I turn Stereo signal into a mono signal, can I just connect left and right outputs together or what?

Thanks! Sorry for my poor english.

  • Hi, Anton,

It's much easier to control the output level by adjusting the input level since the amplifier runs at a fixed gain.

Connecting a single-ended Right signal with a single-ended Left signal will result in cancellation of significant portions of your bass response. You need to use an op amp to sum them prior to applying them to our amplifier.
