LMV1091: Evaluation board /devkit or similar (or alternative)

Part Number: LMV1091
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320ADC3120

Hello,

We are considering the LMV1091 chip for an ENC application but we cannot find an evaluation board or simple design that we can buy for testing it. Is there any board that we can buy for this purpose? Also, are there any alternative ICs for ENC applications?

Thanks in advance. Best regards,

Manuel

  • Hi Manuel,

Unfortunately the evaluation board of this device was developed long time ago, and being a legacy device most of these tools are no longer available. There is only reference documentation like this user's guide, which could help in terms of a simple schematic and layout guidelines: https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/snaa066b/snaa066b.pdf

  • Hi Ivan,

Many thanks for your answer. In this case, could you provide any alternative for achieving an ENC application (we just need to extract the speech from a single speaker in front of our product when being in a noisi environment).

    Manuel

  • Hi Manuel,

LMV1091 is pretty unique in the fact that it includes the algorithm for noise cancelling.

You can use other ADCs like TLV320ADC3120 to capture the data from a couple microphones, although you'll need to perform the noise cancelling algo on the host processor. The ADC includes some features that could help to improve performance, but not the algorithm itself. ADCx120 family includes a VAD block that can be used to detect voice activity at the input and notify the host processor. It also includes biquad filters that you may use to filter voice bandwidth (~300Hz to ~3kHz) before sending to host processor.
