touch slider for volume control

Hello,

I am looking to build a simple touch sensor slider that basically works as potentiometer (for volume control) I am not able to find a simple sensor controller, so i will be able to output the resistance to an opamp, to drive an 8ohm 1 watt speaker.

All controllers i find have far more features than i need. Apologies if i posted in the wrong forum but i couldn't think of a better classification

Hi Jeison,

I am not aware of any touch slider device that provides a resistance change output. Our dedicated capacitive touch sensing devices all use a digital interface(I2C) for communication.

We also have the MSP430 Captivate devices which also have a button, slider, and wheel EVM.

Hello Eddie,

Thank you, i did see the MSP430 i will see if i can make it do what I want to do if not i will just chain a few opamps to work the way i want to. Also i did find a ic that had that function however it was discontinued over a decade ago but was not able to find a successor, it was from another mfg not TI.

No problem. The MSP430 slider solution is good, but not a drop in replacement for a potentiometer.
