Potential error with custom PCB design

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2591, CC2590, CC8530

Hi all,

We've produced an in house circuit design for an 8530 coupled with a cc2591/cc2590 based on the reference design provided by TI.

Out of four sample boards we can only get one to pair (either in autonomous or host controlled mode). We can communicate with all four boards via spi with no issues. The only thing that stands out is when we issue a DO_SCAN command (when programmed as a host controlled slave) the MSB of the status word remains 0 for a lot longer than the scan time-out. Often it will take over 60 seconds to 2 minutes for the flag to go to a 1. This only occurs on the boards which are not pairing. Visual inspection has failed to provide us with any clues.

What would cause the cc8530 to stall for a lot longer than the programmed timeout flag on a DO_SCAN command?

Thanks,

Michael.
