HI ,:
WE have two quiestion, please hlep to check it ;
1. For mobile phone projects that support stereo sound, is the second group of I2S required?
2. Pin SDZ is used for hardware shutdown,Is this required?

Hi Wenzel,
Most of mobile phone applications use different speaker types for loudspeaker (bottom) and receiver (top), if using different speakers then stereo linking may not be used. What stereo linking does is share the gain between channels, so that if one of them applies attenuation due to speaker protection or another feature, the same applies on the other channel.
Yes, SDz pin is hardware shutdown. If don't need to control this pin you may pull it high, and you can just use the software shutdown and software reset controls through I2C.

hi,Ivan Salazar:
TOP SPEAKE supports speaker and earpiece functions. The lower speaker only supports speaker function. Stereo function is required when working in dual speaker mode. In this scenario, do you recommend using I2S2 to connect the two PAs to each other?
Hi Wenzel,
This feature is most often used in Bluetooth speakers, laptops or other kind of product with same speaker on R and L locations. In mobile phones most likely the SPL and frequency response of each speaker is different, as mentioned this may not be used.

Hi Ivan Salazar:
If I need to use the stereo linking function, how does the software control to disable or enable this function?
How to choose master-slave mode for two PAs connected to each other through I2S2?
Thanks !
Hi Wenzel,
I'll collect some details on this and share within a couple of days.

Hi Wenzel,
In order to use stereo linking function, you just need to enable this feature in PPC3. Whenever you have a dual-mono tuning file, new checkboxes will become available at the Smart Amp -> Protection Tuning block, enable these and PPC3 will handle all required configuration, no need to define master and slave dependencies.

Hi Ivan Salazar:
In the case of stereo sound, does the same spk mean that the core spk is the same or the core spk + stack is exactly the same? If the spk is the same, can I not connect to i2s2 on the pa?
Thanks !
Hi Wenzel,
What does spk+stack mean?
I'm not clear on this question, could you please elaborate?

Hi Ivan Salazar:
Hi Wenzel,
Stereo linking feature is optional, you can use it regardless, although different back volume will change the frequency response, in such case I think the sound from each of the speakers may be different anyways.
