PurePath - Interprocessor component

My question is about the operation of interprocessors, about which I feel I'm missing something important.

In some example AEC process flows, for example AIC3254_AEC_12LE, the output 1 of DSP_D_DSP_A_AEC_LE is directly linked to the input 1 of DSP_A_DSP_D_AEC_LE, and then from its output to AEC_12LE. As the input is transferred from DSP A back to DSP D, which will handle AEC_12LE's processings; why isn't the input from MonoI2S_In_AEC directly connected to AEC_12LE, and the interprocessors aren't configured with only single inputs and outputs? Does PurePath implement a direct connection here?

I suspect that PurePath does not allow DSP_A_DSP_D_AEC_LE to have single I/O ports. If this is the reason, I would like to know why it is not allowed.

Thank you,

Onur
