dynamic audio input stream selection

Hi,

I have two questions related to the firmware configuration:

1. Would it be possible (in future firmware releases) to switch a master's analog input between USB and external CODEC on the fly (without reprogramming)? This would be a nice feature for an audio transmitter to switch between laptop and MP3 player.

2. Are there any plans to make source code and toolchain available for custom firmware developments?

1. No there's no plans to do this. To make it happen you must use an external dsp that supports both USB and I2S input and outputs an I2S stream to the CC85xx. In addition you must have an ADC to feed I2S to the DSP.

2. I'm afraid not...

You will need an external circuitry to do the USB and I2S switching. Texas Instruments have a couple of alternatives:

The brand new low-cost DSP series have a couple of devices (C5533. C5534 and C5535) that have both USB and I2S interface and can do this functionality.

There is also a older device that might do the trick here, the TAS1020B can be used as a USB to I2S device:
