Hi team,

Could you please advise if capacitor of LC filter failed OPEN/SHORT,

can TAS6584 detect it?

Short failure should be detected by Over current or Load diag, but is it possible to detect Open failure?

Tsuji,

We do not have a method to detect a LC capacitor to be open. If it is shorted, the device will have an overcurrent event.'

Hi Gregg-san,

Is there anyway to detect the Open failure by checking THD, noise or any parameter that can be measurable.

I would like to detect at the production line to check for assembly failure.

Hi Tsuji-san

The THD and frequency response should all have some difference, but may not easy to define a threshold. Using AC load diag should also possible to find some difference, depending on their speaker type.
