Part Number: TAS5828M
Currently our code is starting playback on the TAS5828M as follows:
- mute pin is already asserted
- set device to Hi-Z mode (set reg 3 DEVICE_CTRL2 = 0x02)
- I2S clocks start
- wait for PLL to lock (read reg 39 CLKDET_STATUS = 0x08)
- wait XX milliseconds
- set device to PLAY mode (set reg 3 DEVICE_CTRL2 = 0x03)
- wait 100ms
- release mute pin
If XX is around 500ms, the audio output starts smoothly
If XX is less than 500ms, there is a audbile click on the output.
Interestingly as long as the I2S clocks are present, switching between HiZ/PLAY or turning the mute on/off doesn't result in the click. I have only seen this in the situation where the I2S clocks are being restarted.
You can also change the delays at steps 5 and 7 and as long as they add up to around 600ms there is no click.
We would like to reduce this 600ms delay while avoiding the click. Is there any way of doing this?
