DRV2700EVM-HV500: Piezocermic trimorph bending actuator

Hello,

New and not know much about of Piezos, but I have DRV2700EVM-HV500 and got few piezocermic trimorph bending actuator. So can I drive bender with this evaluation board? Bender guide says "It is suggested to use a series resistor. For switching it is suggested to discharge and short-circuit the passive piezo ceramic via a resistor"

Hello,

I believe this is possible and you could try it out. Refer to the image below to see if the output voltage and load current align with your actuators needs, also considering the capacitance and desired drive frequency. This EVM can provide about 1W of drive strength.

But do I have to drive this bender with DRV2700EVM-HV500 like "monomorph"? Or is it possible diy or buy "switching resistor" for DRV2700EVM-HV500 to drive as should trimorph piezo. Or do I need in more sophisticated control?

I think you can connect the bender directly to the EVM. Can you provide a spec sheet, data sheet, or user guide for this bender?
