We are currently utilizing your TAS2563 speaker controller in conjunction with the STM32WB55 MCU on our mainboard, paired with the Harman speaker E300-0096-001 Odyssey3 Plus (4 ohms).We simulated on EVM Kit.

As we approach our launch event scheduled for March 18 at the CSUN event in California, we have encountered an issue where the system shuts down when the speaker reaches its limit. Given the urgency of our situation and the imminent event, we kindly request your immediate assistance in resolving this matter.

Hi Kubilay,

Do you see the same issue on EVM and on custom board?
What is your supply for this test, are you using a battery? What is the voltage? I assume the issue doesn't happen if you supply the device with a bench supply instead, is that correct?

Please share your PPC3 file, there's a limiter and BOP feature that may be useful in this case, we can set the limits with some considerable headroom to allow the device to reduce the output and prevent shutdown: www.ti.com/.../slaa899.pdf

Hi Ivan, yes. We saw same problem EVM.

Now, I wanna share our last situation about usage of TAS2563.

We have 2 main scenario about usage of TAS2563. We can write our sound file to flash then we can read and play very well but in our application we need to get real-time stream via BLE 5.1 from iOS or Android app. Do you have any documentation about real time streaming? Maybe you will help about timing, buffer size or other side of these IC usage.

Hi Kubilay,

TAS2563 is able to play any audio in TDM or I2S format coming through the digital audio interface. The Bluetooth processor should be able to handle the formatting of the data, similar to this block diagram: https://www.ti.com/lit/df/tidr322/tidr322.pdf

Hi Ivan, I am looking at the relationship between vbat limiter and channel gain on tas2563. I don't know who have higher priority when vbat limiter threshold high level is lower than the channel gain setting. Could you give some introductions about that ? what should I pay attention to when I using the vbat limiter, Thanks a lot !

Hi Chris,

Channel gain is fixed, and what the VBAT limiter does is that it applies attenuation over that channel gain up to a maximum attenuation which is also configured int he VBAT limiter block. The resulting final gain is the combination of the channel gain and the attenuation applied by the limiter.
