Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA3221,
Hi,
I'm working on a project that requires 4CH of output, but I need the finished product to support one of three output configurations. This product will be packaged in a variety of kits and the amp needs to work in either a 4.0 (4CH mode), 2.0 (2CH mode) or 2.1 (2+1CH mode).
1. Will either the TPA3255 or TPA3221 facilitate this?
2. Do either IC require specific input configurations to operate between any of the output configurations?
3. Is the output configuration a simple wiring change like most half-bridge topologies where one channel is inverted or is running 4CH vs 2CH modes dependent on the PIN usage from the IC? It seems that running 4.0 vs 2.0 would require using different pins which would require using relays and properly filtered for each configuration?
4. If #3 is somewhat accurate to my understanding, would it be easier to implement two amp ICs instead of only one IC, but still, is running one IC in PBTL for one channel of output a simple "exterior wiring configuration" to achieve?
