TAS6584Q1EVM: TAS6584Q1EVM: PurePath Console 3 & TAS6584Q1EVM does not connect to EVM through USB (Windows 10)

Part Number: TAS6584Q1EVM

I have just installed the latest PPC3 on Windoze 10.  I have installed the 'apps' for this EVM board.  All the latest from TI's website as of today.

Windows shows no device for sound added as well as PPC3 with the TAS6584 app. running does not allow connection, simply states 'offline'

and clicking does nothing.

What to check?

Is or are there any Windoze permissions or settings that need to be done to 'see' the USB connection and start using?

Please advise!

  • Hi Marc

You could have a check with below document.

And is there any other EVM at your side? Could also have a quick try. The PC, USB cable, and EVM all have chance to meet problem, we may need try to narrow down as first step.

  • Hi, thanks for the reply.  I did get out my older TAS6424EVM and it still works.  So when I unplugged it and connected the TAS6584EVM to that cable Windoze did the "new USB found" ding...dah...I then realized I had been trying one of those USB cables that came with a flash light or something that only has the power and no data wires in it....got me again!  Fool me once, fool me twice and most likely again...your hint to get out the older EVM I used to design another project get me its working cable!

I'm playing music via. the USB and can proceed to the I2S from my test MCU board now...

    Cheers.
