Hi TI team，

Does its I2S slave mode support 3-wire digital audio interface (no MCLK required)?We want to use the GPIO1 as a interupt signal to MCU for voice-activated application.

We need two channel balance analog input so there is no any GPIO remain for voice-activated interupt signal output，So we want to check if the ADC I2S slave mode whether support 3-wire digital audio interface (no MCLK required)? If so then we can use GPIO1 for interupt.

Hi Will,

Yes, this device supports 3 wire digital audio input and you're correct, you can map the GPIO pin to serve as an interrupt for voice detection simultaneously.

For the schematic, please reference figure 9-1 of the datasheet for recommended supply decoupling capacitor values.

We also recommend pulling up the I2C bus up to IOVDD.

Hi Daveon，Thank you very much for the confirmation.

Yes, We have two pull up resistors for I2C SCL and SDA and use decoupling capacitors for audio input on anther page.

I want to double confirm with you about the I2S CLK,it's needed or not with voice-activated application,purpose is to save power during system standby period and still suport voice-activated feature.

Hi Will,

I see, in low power applications there is no need for external clocks for the VAD algorithm within the chip to be enabled. 'The system reuses an internal oscillator tuned to generate the ADC and DSP clocks of the required frequency.'
