Hi Application Team:
We would like design TAS5421-Q1 for 50ohm with 1W max power speaker .
but we just saw THD+N (%) with only 4ohm or 8ohm case.
May I know how many impact of THD+N if using 50ohm speaker?
thank you

Hi Roy,
I performed some quick power and voltage calculations for 1W into 50 ohms. You will need over 20Vdc to meet this power level. The device does not support 20Vdc on PVDD.

Hi Scott:
Thank you for your information. Just have one more question
do you have power V.S resistance V.S voltage calculation formula could share to me?
thank you
Roy
Roy,
This is the simple power calculation based on Ohms Law. P=V*V/R. V is in RMS, so we need to have Vpeak for the power supply (PVDD). Vp = 1.414*Vrms. This assumes no losses. Then you need to look at losses in the system and adjust the PVDD accordingly.
