hello,

We are not familiar with the device TLV320AIC3204 and have a problem:

The hardware drew a Demo board according to Section 10.2 "Typical Application" in "TLV320AIC3204", as shown below:

The three-pin MIC is connected to MICBIAS, IN1L, and GND

The headset is connected to HPL and GND

Question now: Is the hardware design wrong? How to determine whether the 3204 is working properly? How do you determine if the register setting was successful?

Try to give LDO_IN for 3V3, external IC for MCLK, WCLK, BCLK, SCL, SDA, send register configuration through I2C, no response. Again to LDO_SELECT and IOVDD for 3V3, still no response. SCL and SDA were raised with 4.7K, but there was still no reaction.

Both device addresses 0x30 and 0x18 sent by I2C have been tried

Hi,

You might want to start checking the supplies and the reset pin first since I2C transactions are not successful.

While supplies are powering up, reset must be pulled low and then release after supplies are up and stable.

Once this is done, you can use the examples in section 4 below and monitor the I2C lines.

Check any ACK or NACK etc. using a logic analyzer.

TLV320AIC3204 Application Reference Guide

Once I2C transactions are working, then you can provide the WCLK, BCLK etc. from the host and configure the codec according to your application.

Please make sure the above are working before proceeding further with the debug.

Thank you for your reply.

I supply 1.8V to ADVV and DVDD, 3.3V to IOVDD and LDOIN, but the SDA and SCLK of iic are only about 0.5V, which makes it impossible to communicate. What is the reason?

Do you have pullup for your I2C lines SCL and SDA to IOVDD? It should pull high to IOVDD by default.

If you do have that, when you execute the I2C transactions you will see the clock and data from host.

Thank you for your reply.

Now I2C lines SCL and SDA in series 2.7K resistors with IOVDD。

Directly to the IOVDD power supply, 3204 operating current is 0, there is no change. It feels like the chip isn't working.
