Tool/software:

Hello, we are currently able to use the above product normally, but when we connect an amplifier board and speaker externally, and turn the amplifier to the maximum, we can clearly hear noise. We have ruled out the amplifier board's inherent noise, so it is our product causing the issue. Additionally, when we operate the product, with the background noise removed, operating it causes the noise to increase momentarily, and the noise persists, fluctuating like waves.

We mainly want to consult on the following questions:

  1. What is the cause of the noise, and why does it fluctuate?
  2. Can the noise be reduced by configuring the sound card chip?
  • Hi,

What is the "background" noise you're describing when operating the product? Have you measured the output of the codec without the amp connected to see if the noise is present?

Turning up the amplifier to the maximum is bad practice. It's a very easy way to get noise, since the noise usually is a result of poor SNR. You should try turning up the output of the codec instead.

  • Hi,

Our product is an all-in-one conference machine, and the “background sound” here refers to the special effect sound of clicking the mouse.

We can only listen to the product without noise by connecting the headphones. Is there any other way to test?

We tried to connect the power amplifier board to the computer and adjust the effect of the power amplifier to the maximum. There was no strong noise, but there was when it was connected to our product. What is the source of this noise? How to reduce this noise?

    Best regards,

    Yael

  • Hi Yael,

I'm still not understanding the situation. It sounds like there are two types of "noise" you are dealing with: mouse clicking background noise, and white noise from the speaker? Is that correct?

Nothing can be done about the mouse clicking except to turn down the input level of the microphone. If using headphones does not create noise, then it is probably due to the output driver. What gain settings are you using for the codec line outputs?

    Thanks,
    Jeff McPherson
