Must radio be connected to codec I2C under host control?

I have an EVM set up under host control, and my host is configuring the codec.  In the configurator, I have selected the codec (3254) and chosen to customize the setup, and I have deleted all the commands under each "view" of the audio device customization (off to inactive, etc).  It seems as though the radio still needs to be connected via I2C to the codec even though these configuration scripts are empty, because if I remove its I2C connection, the radio will not successfully connect to the other radio anymore.  I cannot choose "none" under the list of codecs.

Is the radio required to be on the I2C bus even if the host is doing the configuration?

  • Sorry, I figured out how to get around it.  In the Configurator, where you choose the codec, I used the Generic DSP.  I had tried this before but apparently I had something else wrong that time, because now that works just fine.  So it's all good, thanks, I took the radio off the I2C bus and it still connects and plays.
