Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAC5211, TAC5111
Tool/software:
Is the data format of this device PCM? Or is it some other data format?
(Which data format does it support?)
Because it's not mentioned in the datasheet.

Hi,
Yes, the TAC5142 supports 2's complement PCM audio data format.
Thank you.
>Yes, the TAC5142 supports 2's complement PCM audio data format
⇒ Does the datasheet state that the PCM format is supported?
(Where in the datasheet does it say that?)
Hi,
PCM is not explicitly mentioned in the data sheet, but all the audio formats specified by the device are all PCM 2s complement in nature, according to the I2S standard.
Best regards,
Jeff McPherson
Thank you. I understand.
If possible, please let me know.
The datasheets for TAC5111 and TAC5211 state that they are in PCM format.
Why does the description differ depending on the product, like TAC5142?
Hi,
Please keep in mind that these data sheets are still in a preview status and are not final. The paragraph you are referencing makes mention of software register configurations. Since the TAC5142 is hardware controlled, the paragraph is not in the data sheet. However I assure you the PCM information is still true for the TAC5142.
Best regards,
