piezo driver

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA2100P1

Looking forpiezo deriver, for   110db (10cm) from the Piezo.

The frequency is about 3Khz but basically it is a single tone of 1-2 seconds.

If we can make it from the lithium battery CR2032 it will be the best.
Do we have solution?

  • Hi, Eli,

You might want to look at TPA2100P1.

  • Hello Eli:

What voltage level is required for your transducer?

  • Hello,

I gave the customer TPA2100EVM,and got the below questions:

    1.    1.Do you have any information for the input signal requirement (User guide section 2.1.2-2 "connect the audio source to the input RCS jack")

    2.    2.As we would like to use this piazo driver with the cc430 chip, do you think we can connect it directly (trough PWM etc…) or we will need codec or DAC for this?

    3.    3.Do you have any reference design for such driver and controller?

  • Hello Eli:

Is the requirement still to send a tone?  If so, you can generate a 3000kHz squrewave with a GPIO pin and filter out the harmonics.

The TPA2100P1 has three different gain settings, 12dB, 16dB, and 24dB.  For an 8.5Vpeak signal at the output, 2.1Vpeak at the input will drive it to full output with the 12dB setting.  1.35Vpeak for full output at the 16dB setting and .54Vp for full output at the 24dB setting.

    Rgds,

    Fred
