TAS5825MEVM: How to fix the TAS5825MEVM

Part Number: TAS5825MEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM1808EVM

Tool/software:

I need help fixing the TAS5825MEVM board. I've encountered a strange signal, as depicted in the figure below, for BCK, DOUT, and LRCK. Could you please provide contact information for a FAE whom I can email directly for a prompt response?

Best regards,

Baz

  • Hi Baz,

Are the three signals coming from PCM1808EVM into the TAS5825MEVM(the thread you attached), are you inputting SDOUT or SDIN? Please check your input clock ratios to make sure they are compatible with your device that is inputting the audio file and the TAS5825MEVM. Thanks.

    Regards,

    Sam

  • Hi Sam,

Actually, I had tried to connect TAS5825EVM directly to PCM1808EVM, as shown in the test setup in the figure below (with three signals connected to LRCK, BCK, and SDIN), playing an audio file from the PC. However, it didn't work. So, I tried connecting TAS5825EVM with the PurePath Console motherboard and playing the audio file from PPC3, but it still didn't work. I then probed the three digital audio signals (LRCK, BCK, and SDIN) at the TAS5825EVM, and the waveform is provided in my previous thread. The same signal was obtained from the motherboard, but with a small amplitude.

I need your kind assistance to guide me on how I can troubleshoot the problem on this board.

    Regards,

    Baz

  • Hi Baz,

In your setup, please try adding a 3.3V power supply to the point above D1. If that does not change anything, can you try lowering the clock frequencies and let me know what you see. Thanks.

    Sam
