LM48100Q-Q1: Noise in speaker output.

Part Number: LM48100Q-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi team,

We are currently working on the LM48100Q-Q1 Audio Amplifier and we are observing some noise in the speaker output. This is the process we are following to feed the data to audio Amplifier.

1) We are using the WAVToCode application to convert our audio WAV file into .c file where we get the audio's RAW data in an array. And we are directly feeding the RAW data to the PCM module and it further to Audio Amplifier.

2)we are observing some noises on the Waveforms at the input of audio amplifier. There was a R-C filter present between the controller and Amplifier we shorted that filter and tried playing the audio and there is still some noise present.

3) Is there any specific toll which we need to use to convert the WAV files?? And also i heard that some normalization needs to be done on the audios RAW data before feeding it to amplifier, we are unable to find the normalization formulae, if there is any formulae/method which we need to follow can you please share it.

4)The register settings on the Audio amplifier are attached here.

Thank you.

  • Hi Rahul

It sounds like at LM48100 input side, there's already noise signals, and LM48100 just amplified this noise.

I'll let out team member Kevin to double check this problem, he's more familiar with this device. Please kindly wait to the next week, he's out of office right now.
