TAS6584-Q1: Channel sync output?

Part Number: TAS6584-Q1

Tool/software:

TI experts,

Due to TAS6584 output CH can not swap or assign to specific input L/R stream.

So I connect SDIN1 to GPIO1 as SDIN2.

Thus, I expect CH 1/3 and 2/4 is same.

If I connect CH1-4 to speaker individually, everthing looks good and L/R stream as expect.

But when I used CH1/3 as Bi-Amp connection, audio looks not good.

May I know how to resolve?

CH1/3 or CH2/4 is sync output?

  • Hi John,

Can you supply some diagrams of your Bi-Amp setup?  Also, can you send some oscilloscope screenshots so we can see the "bad" audio?

    Regards,
    Gregg Scott

  • Dear Gregg,

Thank you for help. Actually I have not measurement data yet.

The Bi-Amp connection as following and sound definitely not good.

CH1==> R-Speaker low frequency input, CH3==> R-Speaker high frequency input,

CH2==> L-Speaker low frequency input, CH4==> L-Speaker high frequency input,

The same setup I did with the other TI chip before and result is perfect.

So I am not sure CH1/3 and CH2/4 has sync output issue or latency concern?

    Again, appreciated your professional help.

    Regards,

    John

  • John,

I assume you are using the EVM.  The EVM is setup for I2S input by default.  You need to make sure the Register 9F is set to 0x10 for SDIN2 as the input.
