TAC5212-Q1: Availability, Group Delay in low latency mode, ADC DR specification

Part Number: TAC5212-Q1

Tool/software:

We are working on a new audio product and are considering the TAC5212-Q1 Automotive low-power stereo audio codec with 115-dB dynamic range ADC, 120-dB DAC.  Before we dive into an analysis in detail I have a few of questions.

1) When will the product be released for mass production. Our schedule would require us to have 50 parts later this fall, a couple of hundred parts in early 2025 and production quantities about June 2025. Would that be doable?

2) Low latency (group delay) is important for our application. The data sheet shows group delay for linear  filters but does not give the numbers for low latency filters or ultra-low latency. Can you provide those figures.

3) The datasheet specifies 118 dB dynamic range but the name of the part on your site now says, "stereo audio codec with 115-dB dynamic range ADC, 120-dB DAC".  Will the DR of the ADC on the final part now be 115 dB

 Thanks.

  • Hi Brian,

Please keep in mind the device in a pre-release stage, so the datasheet is liable to change until final silicon is trimmed and released to production. TAC5212-Q1 is scheduled for release this year and should be available for early 2025 demands.

The latency plots and documentation will be included in the final datasheet.
