TAS2110: layout guidelines

Part Number: TAS2110

Tool/software:

Hello,

There is something odd in the TAS2110 layout guidelines in the datasheet. The first recommendation is to place the boost inductor close to the device with no via between the device terminals and the inductor. But the layout example on the next page shows the inductor placed on the bottom side! What is the correct recommendation? If possible, I would like to avoid component on bottom side to keep production costs as low as possible.

Best regards,

  • Hello,

Thanks for reaching out. It is best to have the boost inductor as close as possible to the SW pin, ideally without vias. If space is an issue, the inductor can be placed on the bottom of the board but still as close to the pin as possible.

    Regards,
