TAD5242EVM-K: Only one channel has sound.

Part Number: TAD5242EVM-K

Tool/software:

Hi team,

When I tried to check the sound by inputting a 1khz sine wave, only one side of the sound was produced with the following settings.
Are there any other points to check or possible causes?

MD0:Short to AVDD with 22K Ohms
MD1,MD2:0,0
MD3:Ground
MD4,MD5:0,1
MD6:0

I changed the MD0 setting and tried TDM and I2S, but these outputs were completely different, with waveforms observed at different frequencies and distorted waveforms.

Best Regards,
Ryu.

  • Hello Ryu,

I tested the EVM in the lab with t configuration example  as shown in table 3-1. and worked fine . I included the pictures  of the jumpers below  as your jumper set up probably is the cause.

A side note: When you change the setting on MD0, you are programming the device to accept that specific format. So if you change the setting to LJ you need to make sure that your input format now is changed to LJ as well. You can not send the same input(format) if you change the MD0 setting.

I think it is the jumper setting issue but you can also confirm you have input data in both channels.

Let me know if you still have any issue.

    Regards,

    Arash
