PGA2500: `digital output pins - spec?

Part Number: PGA2500

Tool/software:

I can't see this on the data sheet - what are the current source/sink specs. for the 4 digital output pins? I need to drive an opto  relay that

needs about 15mA.

TIA

  • Hi Ian,

The GPO digital output current drive capability of the PGA2500 is limited. The typical digital high-level output drive current capability at (VA+) - 1.0V is Io = 200μA, and the the typical digital low-level output sink current capability at 0.4V is Io = -3.2mA. Please see typical spec under Digital Characteristics, on the VOH/VOL spec test conditions on page 3:

Therefore, unfortunately, the PGA2500 will not be able to drive/control directly the opto relay that consumes about 15mA, you will need to use a digital buffer with the current drive capability.

    Thank you and Kind Regards,

    Luis

  • ahh ok thats a shame. relatively easy to fix though.
