TLV320DAC3100: TLV320DAC3100IRHBR

Dear TEXAS INSTRUMENTS Team,

In our process has been detected issue with the component 5560050420 - MPN - TLV320DAC3100IRHBT.

Problem concerns measurement of frequency on DAC interface.

 

According with the test specification it should lower than 370kHZ

NOK part with description TI 47K

OK part with description TI 1AI

For this moment problem has been detected on the date code 2427 and 2428

kHZ 

Cross check test has been done, assembly good and bad part confirm problem with component on the product:

Bad

307 kHz

371 kHz

371 kHz (after replace)

308 kHz (after replacing)

 

Check the part from other date code, results ok:

Please provide  data about target for measurement of frequency on DAC interface, we didn’t find any data in the specification.

    I am trying to understand the question so I can answer it correctly.

    It seems the batch with description TI 47K  with time  code 2427 and 2428 are  NOT okay but  the parts with description TI 1AI  is OK.  This is not a question that I can answer but probably I can find the correct team to look into it.

    This part is an audio DAC so based on datasheet and general audio requirement, we have the following:

    Sample Rates  8-kHz to 192-kHz,  input freq up to 20KHz , Master clock frequency up to  50MHz ,  BCLK  can be calculated from fs and number of channels and its  depth.  So for stereo 32bit and fs of 192k we can calculate the max BCLK 

    BCK=2x32x192k=12.288MHZ

    These clks are valid  regardless of using SPK or HP.

    Thank you for feedback, I will forward the your answer to our Test Enginierr Team.

    Do you have information that was implemented any changes in this component regarding frequency limits? We are receiving this component since 2022 and for this moment wasn't any problem with frequency during the test.

  • Hello, I am applications Engineer and do not have visibility to manufacturing  or Fab  changes . Can you send me a clear picture of one  "ok" and one "not Ok" part so I can forward it to the team who can tell us the history/origin  of each part .
