Choosing a DSP for a simple audio mixer

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS3108

Hi there,

I'm embarking on a final undergraduate project which will require me to mix 8 channels of differential analogue audio down into 4 mixes. I've looked at the TAS3108, but I've been told that the development tools are graphical only, which is a shame. Would I therefore be looking at the TMS320C6000 line of processors? If so, are simple reference designs available for the clock/memory side of things? I've got the ADC/DAC side of things sorted, I think!

Best regards,

Dave

  • Hi, David,

Documentation on the TAS3108 is not very detailed... You are probably correct in your thinking of using a general purpose device like the C6x that it fully documented is a grand idea.

I suggest you post a specific question in the C6x forum asking for what you need.
