TPA3139D2EVM: How to solve speaker not playing music?

Hi,

I am an intern from a sports-related company, and I have been given a task to use TPA3139D2EVM and connect to a speaker to play sound from a computer.

Previously I had use TLV320AIC3254 which connects to TPA2012D2EVM which connects to the speaker and had successfully play music from my computer. However, the music was quite soft, so I was told to swap TPA2012D2EVM with TPA3139D2EVM hopefully to have a louder sound output from the speaker. The speaker specs are 1.5W, 8ohms.

I am not using the RCA jack and had soldered the input signal cable directly on C24 and C25 capacitors.

The issue is there is incoming signal to TPA3139D2EVM, but the speaker is not outputting any sound. I am supplying 5V, 7ampere to the board and not using plimit. Is there any way to solve this issue?

it seems like you are using differential input.

maybe you have to remove J10 and J6 to make evm be differential input mode.

Hi Jesse,

I have tried removing J10 and J6, but it did not work.
I tried probing directly on the chip itself on pin 14, which is receiving the input signal and pin 3 and pin 16, both are showing 5V.

Is there anything else I can look into to find out where the issue is coming from?

1. need to check your input is differential or single.

can you test the TP7 and TP8 waveform? they are the same or different?

2. how about using RCA jack, can it output sound?
