TAS6424E-Q1: The difference between fault pin and warn pin?

Part Number: TAS6424E-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS6424E

Tool/software:

Hello Team,

If the SOC dosen't  have PWM pins, which means we can't use TAS6424E warning function?

What's the difference between warn pin and fault pin?

  • Ailing,

The basic difference is that a Fault will place a channel or all channels in Hi-Z mode to protect the device from a fault.  A Warn or warning will not place a channel or all channels in Hi-Z mode but provide a warning that a fault may be imminent, and one should take action.  The only warning that is different is a POR.    See table 9-5 in the datasheet.

    Regards,
