The basic difference is that a Fault will place a channel or all channels in Hi-Z mode to protect the device from a fault. A Warn or warning will not place a channel or all channels in Hi-Z mode but provide a warning that a fault may be imminent, and one should take action. The only warning that is different is a POR. See table 9-5 in the datasheet.
