Part Number: PCM4104
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM1681, , PCM1690, TAD5242, TAD5212

Tool/software:

Hi expert,

My customer have a new project of high accuracy audio signal output, Could you please help select one chip?

1. signal output freq: 20~20kHz (1kHz is usually used)

2. 4 channels sync output

3. 24bit

4. accuracy 0.01%

5. With self-calibration function.

Moon

  • Hi Moon,

The PCM4104 is our only 4-channel DAC, we have some that have more channels and would support 4, or you could do a two-chip solution with 2 2-channel DACs, but it depends if you prioritize cost, SNR, or # of chips. The PCM4104 has the highest SNR of a 1-chip solution, with 118dB, but it is the most expensive of my recommendations. You could also look into the PCM1690, an 8 channel DAC with 113dB SNR and almost half the cost, or the PCM1681 with 8 channels, 105dB SNR, and even lower cost.

We have some even higher performance 2-channel DACs, like the TAD5212 or TAD5242 (hardware controlled version, no need for I2C if this is what you mean by self calibration?) which both have 120dB SNR.

Let me know if you need more help with this. All of these DACs support 24 bit audio and will output between 20-20k.

    Best,
    Mir
