TLV320AIC3100: Analog Radio Input and Microphone Audio Mux

Part Number: TLV320AIC3100
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TS5A22362

Tool/software:

Hello,

In our project, we are using TLV320AIC3100 as an Audio Codec.

Schematic is attached.

AUDIO_RADIO_R and L come from FM - DAB radio IC, Audio Output Voltage characteristics as shown (max 55mVrms)

Also, we want to connect the microphone directly to the speaker output (analog)

A microphone that we are considering to use -> ANM-5254L-LW100-R

Do you recommend using Audio mux such as TS5A22362 or can we handle this situation with TLV320AIC3100 settings?

If you recommend Audio mux could you recommend a part number that compatible with our Radio IC?

Best regards,

Egemen

  • Hi Egemen,

The codec is capable of passing mic signals to the speaker output without any kind of external muxing. However the MIC1LM input cannot do this. See the block diagram below:

The ADC is mono anyway, so if you rearrange your inputs, you can get the radio signal to record through ADC (left right mixed together) and the mic signal can go to speaker outputs.

    Best regards,
    Jeff McPherson
