Dear expert,

Could you help on below technical issue? The test is based on TAS5822MEVM

Test conditions: PVDD = 24V, speaker load: 4Ω@PBTL mode, music name: Abracadabra. Profile: See Attachment, Output Power (RMS): 50W, all other conditions are the same as EVM, see specific picture.
Operate: The EVM is configured according to the above conditions, and the music (Abracadabra) is played in a loop all the time, sometimes there is no sound, multiple verifications, and many times it can reproduce to the silent bad, and the register 0x70 of the read exception is 0X01 or 0X02.
What may have gone wrong?

hi stanley

as you applicaiton, 24v, 4ohm, 50w output, the peak current might exceed the Isat of inductor in our evm board. this might lead to oc happen.

you might need an inductor with large Isat.

you can refer the inductor selection for reference.

1:We replaced the high-current inductor (the inductance is L2, L5, RMS60W on the same TPA3220EVM), but there is still no output of the power amplifier, and the register 0x70 of reading abnormality is still 0X01 or 0X02.
2:we also found that FSW=384K, the probability of defect is smaller, and the higher the FSW=480K or 576K, the higher the probability of no output of the amplifier.
3:We have seen the problem of TAS5822M power amplifier on E2E, we tried to verify it according to the above method, TAS5822M EVM capacitor 474 in the C38, C39, C128, C129 position is replaced by 105, and the power amplifier will always work normally.

it seems like the fake oc happened.

The BST cap cannot get enough charging when play low frequency signal.

I suspect your tuning file hasn’t follow our recommend tuning guide so that output has too large clipping.

you can refer below link to fine tune you ppc3 config. Especially the analog gain and digital gain setting.
