TAS6584-Q1: Class H Audio Amplifier Design

Part Number: TAS6584-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5634, TAS5548, OPA1633

Tool/software:

I would like to design Class H Audio Amplifier solution of 10 CH with two TAS6584-Q1 and LM5123 Boost Controller which will work the audio power supply with tracking.

Could you guide the reference schematic ?

  • Hi

We'll provide through e-mail to you.

  • Hi, Shadow

Thank you for your kind support.

Could you share the reference schematic using TAS6584 + LM5123  + LMG2100  to design TPS 8CH Class H Amplifier.

At the moment, I have no idea how to connect LMG2100 to TAS6584 + LM5123 circuit.

    Thank you in advance.

  • Hi Kyungho

LMG2100 looks like a half bridge GaN? I'm a little confused about your using, could you please describe what is the target you want to get?

  • Hi Shadow

We would like to design 8ch Class H Audio  Amplifier using the GaN LMG2100 in both the TPS(LM5125 x2) and the power IC(TAS6684 x2)s.

    Now I'm understanding how to design LMG2100 (x4) + LM5125(x2) for TPS. It's okay.

But, I have no idea how to design eight LMG2100's power to two TAS6684 having 4ch x2 ( totally 8 ch).

    Thank you in advance.

  • Hi Kyungho

Not suggest to use this way.

TAS6684 is already a high voltage and high power Class-D amplifier. Internally, it already contains the full H-bridge output stage, and designed for high power. Not suitable used for LMG2100 input, which needs small signal PWM input.

For digital PWM output, device TAS5548 indeed could provide. But this device is designed to use together with TAS5634. You could consider to use LMG2100 to replace TAS5634, but need to take care that TAS5634 device has internal analog feedback loop, to guarantee final audio performance. You may also need some linearity audio amplifier (like OPA1633) to create feedback loop, otherwise may find the THD/noise quite bad.

I'm afraid we don't have a mature design about it.

  • Hi, Shadow He

Can your team review the schematic of our 8CH Class H amplifier ?

    Out Class H amplifier is including TAS6684 x2 , LM5125 x2 and LMG2100 x4 to support TPS.

So, please let me know a email address, then I will send it for your team to review.

  • Hi Lee

Last time Qiuwei already using e-mail to provide you reference schematic, please reply on that e-mail, thanks.
