We are looking for a cost-effective codec with at least 2 ADCs and 2 DACs, and a DSP capable of Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC).

We were looking at the TLV320AIC3254 codec and it seems to fit.

Our questions are: Is this codec suitable for our purpose?

Is it possible to implement ANC and AEC with this chip?

Does it come with a pre-built AEC algorithm?

Are there any other codecs better suited for AEC?

Is there any license for the algorithm and/or the PUREPATHCONSOLE software?

We appreciate your guidance in helping us identify the optimal solution.

    Hi Lahoussine,

    We recommend that customers host the AEC/ANC algorithm on a separate system. The miniDSP codecs we have are pretty old and struggle with implementing AEC/ANC effectively. There is already a known limitation that the sample rate must be 8kHz. The cancellation ability is also lacking to modern expectations.

    There is not an AEC algorithm pre-built that is available. But if you do choose this device and get an algorithm working (for any case) there is no licensing required nor is there a license for PUREPATHSTUDIO.
