Hi,

Is the TAS6584 able to output 200W + 200W (PBTL) for 5 minutes with a 4Ω load at PVDD = 45V? Additionally, where can I find the efficiency curve for PBTL?

If I were to design a 5-channel amplifier with 200W per channel, which configuration would be more suitable: 2 ICs in BTL or 3 ICs in PBTL

Not likely, it's not the thermal issue, the condition you mentioned is not possible.

PBTL could provide larger current, used for small resistance load like 2ohm. But if your load value is large, the limitation won't from current, but the voltage.

The IC can't boost the voltage, as you provide 45V, the max output could be, is a 45V peak sinewave. It only has 250W on 4ohm load. PBTL can't increase it.

as shown in the data sheet the PBTL able to output 238W @ 4ohm per channel

is it possible to output 200W for 2 channels in one TAS6584 IC?

I see. So it's two separate PBTL and 200W for each one. That's nothing to concern about. On EVM thermal dissipation condition, also no problem to support 5 minutes.
