Tool/software:
Hello support team!
My name is Michał Kobuszewski, I am involved in audio - related software.
We are facing the task of implementing several functional safety mechanisms that will make use of the TAS6584 functionality of Real Time Load Diagnostics.
We need to be able to detect the short to power and short to ground, as well as load short circuit and load open conditions in real time.
As far as I am aware from TAS6584 Datasheet (SLOSE31 preliminary dated Nov’21) the RTLDG feature covers the load open- and short conditions very well, however the datasheet refers to some parameters that need to be appropriately configured.
If I understand correctly – at the pilot tone frequency the speaker behaves mostly resistively, so we are mainly interested in programming the diagnostic thresholds for some upper- and lower expected speaker DC resistance values.
Are there some guidelines on which registers need to be programmed for this feature to work and how to calculate the values that need to be set?
Is a more up-to-date TAS6584-Q1 datasheet available which might clarify the RTLDG parameters configuration?
Looking forward to your reply,
Sincerely,
Michał Kobuszewski
