Part Number: OPA1602

Tool/software:

Hello,

Please assist to advise how to read the date code based on body marking for below item and the meaning of the number on the body marking.

OPA1602AIDGK
OPA1602AIDGKR

  • Hi CheongMei,

the meaning of the number on the body marking

27 and 29 after TI indicate date code, which is YM format. 27 means that the part is manufactured in July, 2022; other one is manufactured in 9/2022.

If you have other questions, please let me know.

    Best,

  • Hi Raymond,

Could you advise is there any technical difference or functionally difference of the 2 TI OPA models below?

    OPA1602AIDGKR

  • Hi CheongMei,

Could you advise is there any technical difference or functionally difference of the 2 TI OPA models below?

These are the same Si-die in the device; and there are no technical and functionality differences between the two parts.

Differences in part numbers are due to:

OPA1602AIDGK is in VSSOP-8 (DGK) package, sold in tube

OPA1602AIDGKR is in VSSOP-8 (DGK) package, sold in tape and reel.

Here is TI E-store's inventory status.

  • Hi Raymond,

    I am colleague of CheongMei.

Currently we are having this part issue with this part as below info:

    Per/PCA: 8

    Failure Rate: 50%

    Suspected Part:V1826-9296

    MPN: OPA1602AIDGKR

    Date Code used: 4223

Material Qty in stock: 2081 pcs

Remarks: There is only one date code used on the failed batch which is also the same date code in stock.

Marginal result at 20kHz and 5kHz range.

    Debug Analysis done:

1.0 We had identified on each HR_CHMO PCA only 4 CRDs affected (U57211, U76202, U19211, U38211) out of the 8 per in same board.

2.0 We had visually inspected all suspected CRDs, no anomalies found.

3.0 All HR CHOM cards passed Pretest on first time test.

4.0 Did initial workaround to validate the failure as aligned with our QE, ME and Production.

4.1 Had all the 4 CRDs under PN: V1826-9296 (OP Amp) removed only.

4.2 Afterwards cleaned component bottom side

4.3 Cleaned the PCB area underneath the component.

4.4 Remounted and solder back the original components at each respective original location.

4.5 Then assembled back all E9740-66404 cards to their respective location at HLA.

4.4 We retest at FVT. All still failed the same.

5.0 We had tried using PN:V1826-9296 (OP Amp) parts with a different date code and passed.

I would like to request return 8pcs this parts for FA based on our feedback, please kindly go through above info and advise how are we going to return the part perform FA.

  • Hi Yap Jun,

Marginal result at 20kHz and 5kHz range.

OPA1602  is specifically designed for audio application. The op amp's BW is up to 35MHz, and it is hard to believe that it has issues down to 20kHz range. I am not aware of any recent FAB change in the product.

This is the only PCN that I found, which is related to molding compound change, but it should not affect the op amp's performance.

Could you provide me with your audio schematic and I will take look what may be the issues?

If you prefer to contact me in private, please post "friendship" request via E2E private messaging system, and we can exchange contact information (including my internal email contact) after the communication is established.

The E2E is a technical support forum; we do not handle part return. To ask for return or exchange, you have to contact TI customer's support or TI authorized distributors. I do not know how the return process works currently.

  • Thanks Raymond. I already post the "friendship" request. Beside request for FA, I would also like to discuss the technical issue for this part with you.

Please kindly accept the friend request and provide your email contact for further discussion.

  • Hi Yap Jun,

I have accepted the invitation, and I have sent you a message.

I am going to close the query, since we have established alternative communication route.

    Best,
