TAS6584-Q1: Technical issues with TAS6582

Part Number: TAS6584-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi ti team,

The new project uses TAS6582 for 1-channel PBTL, as shown in the schematic diagram below.
When debugging with the TAS6582 GUI, it was found that there was no 1-channel PBTL in the GUI, and only 2-channel PBTL options were available in the GUI. When debugging with a 2-channel PBTL file, protection occurs when the power is below 10W. Please help check how to choose. Thanks!

  • Hi,

It appears you found an error in our GUI.  I will need to work with our team to fix and update the GUI.  PBTL must be setup while the /STANDBY pin is low.  If /STANDBY is high the PBTL will not "stick".

Try this to set PBTL if the above doesn't fix it.

    1. Set the device for 2 channel BTL and click on configure IO
    2. Go to the Register Map and change the value in Register 0x02 to 0x05, by double click on value and type in the value and hit the enter key.

Now you can go the Device Monitor & Control to control the device.

    Regards,
    Gregg Scott
