TAD5242: Power Sequencing for TAD5242

Part Number: TAD5242

Tool/software:

Hi team,

I am currently evaluating the TAD5242 Audio DAC IC, and I would like to seek support from you and your team regarding the power sequencing of the audio DAC.

May I ask if you are able to provide me with the power sequence of the pins that are part of the IC and the recommended time required for the pins to power up/operate?

Thank you so much for your patience!

Best Regards

Ena

  • Hello Ena,

There is no power sequencing ( you can power up the supply  in any order ) , the only requirement is you need to  wait at least 2ms from the last supply or MDx that is settled to give enough time to internal registers to settle before you send the ASI ( clocks and input) to the device.

    Regards,

    Arash

  • Hi Arash,

Do you know what is the time it takes for the power supplies to power up as well as the MDX pins to be settled?

    Best Regards

    Ena

  • Hi Ena,

the powering of the supplies is related to the power supply equipment you use and connect it to the IC. You have to check the spec of your power supply for that. Also the traces and caps they you have on your board can effect it as well.

    Regards

    Arash

  • Hi Arash,

I will take a look at them!

Can I also ask something unrelated to the power sequencing? It's regarding the MDX pins. If I want to pull up/down to choose a mode for my IC, can I use a pull up/down resistor to IOVDD/GND, or must I short to IOVDD/GND straight (excluding the MD0 pins that specifically states short to ground for target i2s mode) ?

    Best Regards
