On the PCM1789 I am getting a rather loud audio "pop" when releasing the Reset even if the Mute Is on (Low).

Is this due to the Vout quickly rising to 0.5 * VCC1; the voltage level offset?

Is there any thing we can do to stop the pop?

Hello Steve,

Once the external RST is released, after 3846 SCKI the internal reset kicks in , but the key point is that the I2S clks must be stable at this time as well or you might get clicks as the reset is released. For PCM1789 Soft Mute control might be also useful ( register 0x14). Because the soft Mute reduces pop and zipper noise during muting of the DAC output. Also slower supply ramp can help reducing it (The below link regarding pop and click might be of interest to you)
