Hello TI Support,

I am developing a device that needs to interrupt AES3 audio broadcasting at a scheduled time to play an analog audio broadcasted in parallel.
Input AES3 stream is 24bit and up to 192 kHz.

I’ve selected the DIT4192 for this purpose, as its features align well with my requirements. Could you please provide guidance on how to use the RXP pin to switch between two audio streams? What is the proper way to convert AES3 differential signal to "encoded" format? My guess is usage of AES3 receiver that produces I2S data. Should i go with DIX4192 or PCM9211 (PCM9211 has ADC which can assist my needs and remove the need of MCU)? Or should i use a relay to keep it simple?

Hello Genadi

DIX9211 is more advanced than DIX4192. Also PCM9211 and DIX9211 are identical except PCM9211 has an additional ADC ; so if you don't plan to use the ADC , then I would go by DIX4192 as it delivers what you want.

Register 0D is the "Receiver Input Source Selection" register and selects b/w different RXin sources, so you can provide different sources to two of these inputs and then switch between them by programing the register. Or externally you can connect two sources to one of the RXin inputs and switch b/w the source but software control is probably simpler approach.
