TAS6584-Q1: pulling up GPIO_2 when no power supply

Part Number: TAS6584-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi team,

Is it OK to pull up SDOUT_1 and GPIO_2 with external 3.3V when no power supply on PVDD, DVDD and BVAT? Any concern on the revernse current?
In addition, when SDOUT_1 is not used, should the customer left this floating? Or should they pull this up to 3.3V or pull down to GND?

Regards
Ohashi

  • Ohashi,

The pull-up should be connected to DVDD.  It would be unusual to have it connected to 3.3Vdc separate from DVDD.  I have no experience with the pull up being powered without the DVDD being powered.  Good engineering practice is to not allow this to happen due to leakage current allowing things to turn on internally.

SDOUT_1 is an output.  If it is not used, please leave it floating or disconnected.

    Regards,
    Gregg Scott

  • Hi Gregg,

    Thanks for your comment.

For the power down sequence, in the datasheet, it is said as "PVDD and VBAT first is recommended before removing the DVDD supply". If this is violated, will the IC get damaged?

If you could make sure PD pin is pulled low, until DVDD finally set up, then it is safe.

If you can't guarantee PD pin, this sequence it's dangerous.
