PGA2500: PGA2500 alternativ?

Tool/software:

I like the range of functions and audio quality of the PGA2500. On the other hand, I would like to do without a level shifter in the SPI communication.
Is there a newer version of the chip with a comparable range of functions?
I have also tried OPA1692 preamps and digital potentiometers, but unfortunately the ones I used did not work well in the feedback loop of an OPamp.
I am looking for a solution with up to 60dB gain, controlled via I2C or SPI.

    Hi Daniel, 

    Unfortunately, the only programmable gain mic preamplifiers currently offered are the PGA2500 and PGA2505. The PGA2505 is the lowest cost option. The PGA2500 is the highest performance Gain range 0dB and10dB to 65dB in 1dB steps offering 114dB THD (typ) @gain=0dB.
    The PGA2505 offers 0dB and 9dB to 60dB in 3dB steps offering 110dB THD (typ) @gain=0dB.
