TAS2X63EVM: TAS2X63EVM

Part Number: TAS2X63EVM

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

I recently purchased the TAS2X63EVM from Texas Instruments and have been trying to connect it to my system using the default settings.

and sometimes it won't connect and some times it's showing like different EVM message?

sometimes showing like above

  • Sometimes the EVM fails to connect altogether.

  • Other times, PPC3 displays a different EVM name/message, or an inconsistent/different GUI than expected.

  • Occasionally, it shows a message like the one in the screenshot below (please find attached or see above).

I'm not sure what could be causing these inconsistent behaviors. Could you please advise on potential causes and steps to resolve the issue?

From the time of purchase until now i didn't hear any sound from the EVM!!!!!

Your guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,
Pooja.

  • Hi Pooja,

What is the voltage level you're applying to VIN?
Do you see LEDs light up when you apply power? And also when you connect to USB?

The warning message you get about "different version of EVM" is expected for now and should not prevent the device to be configured.

In some of your captures I see the "Unable to apply process flow" error message at the bottom. Can you check if you have the Matlab Runtime Compiler (MCR) installed in your system? Sometimes firewall or similar network issues may prevent all the required tools to install along with PPC3. You can also check that the environment variables are setup properly as described in this document: 3630.PPC3 - EnvVar Fix.pdf

  • Hi Ivan Salazar,

    • Vin voltage=5V
    • LEDS are light up.(blue and Vin LED indication attached image below)

    • MCR path is set correctly (also tried deleting, re-adding, and restarting).

    • Still getting a "different EVM" message and a process flow error.

    With Regards,

    Pooja.

  • Hi Pooja,

I just noticed you have J5 set to ENABLE. Can you please try by setting this jumper to DISBALE instead?

  • Hi  ,

As you mentioned tried but it's showing like "You have different version of EVM-Supported Hardware ID- FWIDTAS2563EVM-REVA"

    With Regards,

    V Pooja.

  • Hi Pooja,

You can ignore that warning message. Does the rest of the functions work OK on your EVM now? Do you keep seeing the process flow error?
