Ceramic / MLCC are the most commonly used caps for this purpose. Usually, you select a non-polarized type of cap for this purpose.

Hi Atsuo,
X7R or X5R are usually best. Voltage rating should allow some headroom on top of the intended application requirement, eg. if the signal Vpk is 5V you may use 15V rated caps. Special consideration is needed whenever DC voltage is applied to the capacitor, as the capacitance derated considerably in ceramic caps as DC is applied to it.
