SRC4192: SRC4192 can convert TDM signals into SPDIF outputs?

Part Number: SRC4192
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DIX4192

Tool/software:

Hi, SRC4192 can convert TDM signals into SPDIF outputs. If not, are there any other solutions that can be recommended.

  • Hi Zhengi,

This is just a sample rate converter but the input and output ports of  SRC4192 is designed to interface to a  receivers and transmitters commonly used for AES/EBU, S/PDIF. You can refer to the following figure  to get S/PDIF at the output. For more detailed discussion, please refer to section  8.1.1 (Interfacing to Digital Audio Receivers and Transmitters) . Also for TDM input to SRC4192 please refer to section 8.1.2 (T DM Applications)

  • Hi, Arash. As shown in the picture, can the DATA pin in SRC4192 be TDMI and SDOUT?

We need to convert the TDM signal output by the DSP ADAU1452 into SPDIF output. Is this achievable?

    Thanks,

  • Hello,

The above can be used to change the sampling rate and convert to SPDIF. The DIX4192 is not TDM compatible but can spit out S/PFID. unless you want to convert the sample rate and then convert it to S/PDIF, it seems to me you do not even need the SRC .

Since the DIX is not cable of handling  TDM signal you need several DIX devices in parallel so each of them would process the coming data (2 channels), also you need to send the corresponding channel to the appropriate DIX to process it. I don't think the above can do it. Unfortunately I don't know if there is such a device that takes TDM and split it to multiple channels  as it is needed to be processed by our DIX devices.

    Arash
